Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the bistable display life of a liquid crystal display element by disposing a layer capable of absorbing a UV ray between a light source and the light crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:A fresnel lens 2 is formed by mixing a UV ray absorber in a methacrylic resin. And, said lens 2 incorporated with said UV absorber is interposed between a liquid crystal panel 1 and the light source 3. And, an image is displayed on a screen 6 by projecting a light coming from the light source 3 to a panel 1, followed by projecting the light coming from the panel 1 to the screen 6. Thus, the bistable display life of the liquid crystal display element is improved.
