Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to tread and pack snow or mud to be able to drive in a favorable condition by forming a tread pattern on the tread surface of a tire body with a number of projections and depressions and by specifying the buildup and opening angles of the wall surfaces of the projections and depressions within specified ranges. CONSTITUTION:A tread pattern is formed on a tread surface 2 of a tire body 1 made of rubber in such a manner that a projection 3 is located on the inner side while projections 4 are located on both outer sides, with the projection 3 having a groove hole 5 in the direction of the tire width at its top portion in which a water absorbing bonded member 6A is fixed, and with the projection 4 having a water escapement cut 7 in the direction of the tire width at its top portion. The arrangement of these projections is staggered by half of their pitch. A depression 8 is provided between the projections 4 and 4. Walls 11 and 12 located in the fore-and-aft direction are formed with buildup angles specified respectively by alpha-gamma. Here, front surface buildup angles alpha and beta rela tive to the road contact surface are set to 40 deg.-70 deg. while an opening angle gammain the direction of the tire width is set to 110-170 deg..
