Abstract

PURPOSE:To mix a plurality of matters to be agitated having great differences in viscosity roughly uniformly, by making a scraper movable in a radial direction relative to a vertical agitator axis so that there is no gap between the inner circumferential wall of a container and the scraper even if the inside diameter of the agitating container varies. CONSTITUTION:The relative positional relationship in radial direction between an agitator axis 1 and a scraper 3 is made adjustable by providing a driving means which moves the scraper 3 in a radial direction relative to the vertical agitator axis 1. Consequently, a vertically movable frame 9 is lowered from above and positioned in an agitator container 6 so that the agitator axis 1 is brought to a specified position in an agitating device, i.e., nearly to a central position of the agitator container 6, following which the scraper 3 is moved radially outwardly with respect to the agitator axis 1 by means of said driving means and is positioned so as to be in contact with the inside wall of said container 6. As a result, gap generation between the inside wall of the container 6 and the scraper 3 can be avoided even if the inside diameter of said container 6 varies.
