CONSTITUTION:In a casing 10 which consists of a front casing 12 for accommodating a torque converter and a rear casing 13 for accommodating a speed change gear, between the torque converter 20 and the speed change gear 30, plural accumulators 71-74 for the speed change gear 30 are incorporated separately in the peripheral direction. Consequently, these accumulators 71-74 are all incorporated effectively in the dead space between the torque converter 20 and the speed change gear 30, and the automatic transmission 1 can be made in an extremely compact size as a whole.
