Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit independent turning over in bed without attendance, by dividing a bed into at least three parts in a stature direction and making the bed plate parts of beds adjacent to each other mutually displaceable between a usual position and a use position by a drive member. CONSTITUTION:When turning over in bed is desired, a hydraulic cylinder 30 is driven to move a rod 30a in the direction shown by an arrow A1. A moving rod 33 moves in the direction shown by the arrow A1 with the movement of said rod 30 while the lower end part thereof is revolved around a roller 31 in the direction shown by an arrow B1. The upper end part of the moving rod 33 moves to fall as shown by an arrow D1 while revolves around a pin 34 in the direction shown by an arrow C1 and the second bed plate part 8 revolves around a hinge mechanism 10 in the direction shown by an arrow E1. As a result, the second and third bed plate parts 8, 9 are bent by about 90 deg. downwardly at the line of the hinge mechanism 11 to generate valley-like depressions in said plate parts. With this displacement, a user U places his occipital region on a main pillow 68 so that his temple part is well supported by a side pillow 39 and can take a posture turning over in bed.
