Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the S/N ratio of a chemical shift image, by obtaining an image, wherein a plurality of chemical shifts are superposed, by one image sensing. CONSTITUTION:The signals from the nuclear spins corresponding to at least two or more chemical shifts are observed simultaneously. As one embodiment, when the signals from the nuclear spins corresponding to (n-1) chemical shifts are simultaneously detected by one measurement, only the nuclear spin corresponding to chemical shift of one kind respectively different in each measurement is selectively excited and the contribution to a signal is removed by phase dispersion. When the number of times of measurement are set to n-times, respective nuclear spins are measured (n-1) times. Therefore, the S/N ratio of an obtained image is given by formula (4). That is, since noise has no correlation between measurements, the S/N ratio becomes n<1/2> No. by n-time measurement whereas a signal becomes (n-1) times. The improvement rate of the S/N ratio is given by formula (5) from formulae (3), (4). As a result, when n>=3 is formed, the above-mentioned improvement rate becomes larger than 1.
