Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the safety and durability of motors and enhance the operating easiness of the body of a suction head and also the dust collecting performance by installing two motors as drive motive in a rotary brush, rotating the brush in the regular direction with one of the motors, and rotating reversely with the other motor. CONSTITUTION: When the body 11 of a suction head is pressed to the floor surface, a negative pressure is applied even to the inside of a rotary brush 12 via a vent 37 to cause generation of a pressure difference with respect to the outside air, which therefore flows into the brush 12 owing to a leak hole 32 via a hollow in a stationary shaft 30, and an air stream leading to the vent 37 is produced, whereby two motors 18 installed opposingly at the ends of the brush 12 are cooled. If at this time, a switch 42 is put on to change over the motor 18 to be fed with current, the rotating direction of the brush 12 is inverted, and it is possible to scratch up the fluff of a carpet from two side, and thus the dust on the carpet can be collected uniformly and the dust collecting efficiency be enhanced.
