For the surface pressure adjusting plate 15, an excessive pressing force to operate in the shape of the surface pressure to a magnetic head from a tape is suitably eased, the wear of the magnetic head and a tape T is suppressed, a service life is drastically improved, especially, a contacting condition with the magnetic head at a tape edge part such as tape inner side and outer side is improved, a satisfactory magnetic head tape contacting condition is created, and an envelope output is improved.
