Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a waveform being free substantially from hysteresis, by impressing a bias magnetic field which gives uniaxial anisotropy in the longitudinal direction of an MR element. CONSTITUTION:Four blocks B1-B4 of MR elements 13, each block comprising the elements in the number of (n) [(n) is a positive integer], are disposed parallel at prescribed intervals on a non-magnetic insulator substrate 11, and conductors 14 are formed so that they have exactly an angle of 90 deg. to the respective longitudinal axes of the elements 13.
