Abstract
PURPOSE: To conduct removal works simply and safely by inserting a sphere into a horizontal borehole for separating base concrete and bottom-section concrete and placing a nuclear reactor container onto the sphere and moving the reactor container. CONSTITUTION: A pressure vessel 3 is dropped onto the bottom section of the nuclear reactor container 2, the upper section 2a of the container 2 is detached from peripheral slabs and dropped into a lower section 2b and an opening section 2c is closed, a large number of horizontal core borings are conducted in parallel with the carrying-out direction between base concrete 4 and bottom- section concrete 5, and the container 2 is separated from the bottom-section concrete 5. A large number of steel balls 6 in approximately the same size as boreholes are inserted successively into the boreholes. The container 2 is moved in the carrying-out direction shown in the arrow, and can be carried out easily to the outside of a housing 1 by the rolling action of the steel balls 6.
