Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a hydraulic fluid compsn. which does not undergo precipitation of boric acid even when contg. a large amt. of water, has a high b.p. when hydrous and excellent low-temp. viscosity characteristics, and contains only a small amt. of precipitate, by combining a polyoxyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether and its borate with a specific amine compd. CONSTITUTION:10-60wt.% compd. of formula 1 and 35-85wt.% compd. of formula II are combined with 5-15wt.% compd. of formula III to provide a hydraulic fluid compsn. In formulae I-III, R<1> and R<2> are each 1-3C alkyl; R<3> is 1-9C hydrocarbon group; A<1>O, A<2>O, A<3>O and A<4>O are each 2-4C oxyalkylene; and m, n, p and q are each the average of No. of 2-4C oxyalkylene groups, provided that m and n are each 2-5, p>0, q>0, and p+q=2-6.
