Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a color developer sheet less susceptible to yellowing, improved in fastness to sunlight and having excellent color developing performance, by using a combination of a specified phenolic resin and zinc oxide as a color developer component. CONSTITUTION:A color developer sheet comprises, on a base, a color developer layer which comprises as a color developer a composition containing a phenolic resin obtained by condensation of a mixture of 100pts.wt. of a p-substd. phenol of formula I and 10-150pts.wt. of a 2,4-disubstd. phenol of formula II or a 2,6-disubstd. phenol of formula III with formaldehyde, and zinc oxide, in such amounts that the amount of zinc oxide is 10-200pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the phenolic resin. The p-substd. phenol of formula I may be p-cresol or the like. The 2,4-substd. phenol of formula II may be 2,4-xylenol or the like. The 2,6- disubstd. phenol may be 2,6-xylenol or the like. In the formulas, each of R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<5> is a 1-12C alkyl, 6-12C aryl or the like.
