Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a trim material for automobile, having softness and moderate stiffness by composing the laminated structure of a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness under a specified value (A-layer) and a thermoplastic resin having a hardness above a specified value, to which a specified amount of filamental and/or plane filler is added (B-layer). CONSTITUTION:For the thermoplastic elastomer (A), the hardness based on the hardness test JIS K6300 (Spring A) is to be under 60, as in case of ethylene- propylene block copolymer, propylene-EPDM, and propylene-butyl rubber. For the thermoplastic resin (B), the Rockwell hardness (R-scale) based on the ASTM D785 is preferably to be above 70, as in case of ABS-resin, AES-resin, polystyrene, and acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer. As to the fiber, glass fiber, carbon fiber, various kinds of synthetic high polymer fiber, metal fiber, etc. are applicable. As to the planer filler, a scaly or flat material such as, mica, talc, clay, etc., is used. The amount of filamental filler added to the thermoplastic resin (B) is preferably 10-50%.
