Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the production of switching noise in switching an effective microphone by adding a prescribed loss to an output signal of a microphone discriminated to be ineffective and setting of an echo cancelling coefficient and loss of an echo eliminating section synchronously. CONSTITUTION:An echo cancelling coefficient of an echo canceller 21 is set by effective/ineffective microphone information S2 sent from a switching control circuit 13 in an echo eliminating section 1. The echo eliminating section 1 sends a microphone switching control signal S1 to loss control circuits 27A, 27B, 27C synchronously therewith. The loss control circuits 27A, 27B, 27C decides the loss of the loss sections 25A, 25B, 25C depending on the preset value of the loss sent from the switching control circuit 13. Thus, a dark noise picked up by the microphones 7B, 7C is eliminated by the loss sections 25B, 25C. Moreover, the production of the microphone switching noise in switching the effective microphone is prevented.
