Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate insertion between a cable and a conduit without requiring a special tool, by forming an expansion agent into a sponge member then sandwiching the sponge member. CONSTITUTION:A water-stop member 1 is formed by sandwiching an expansion agent 2, which reacts with water to expand, with sponge members 3 such as urethane form, then matching faces are adhered through adhesive to provide a water-stop stripe member 1. Then the water-stop stripe member 1 is wound over a cable A in front of the opening of a conduit B to provide a water-stop member wound layer 1' which is moved and inserted between the cable A and the conduit B, then water is sprayed thereon. Consequently, the water-absorbing expansion agent 2 reacts with water through the sponge member 3 to expand and harden so as to fill the gap between the cable A and the conduit B, thus forming a water-stop layer 4. Consequently, the expansion agent 2 is not present on the surface and can be inserted easily between and cable A and the conduit B without requiring a special tool.
