Abstract

PURPOSE:To precisely perform the management of a communication network, such as monitoring, maintenance, etc., section by section, by keeping the constitution of the network in a data base as the relation among the functional blocks, namely sections contained in each facility. CONSTITUTION:Facilities 46-48 are hierarchized into facilities having functionally corresponding relations and up-and-down relations with each other and a section corresponding relation defining table 42 showing which sections (e.g., NP1 and NP2) contained in the facilities (e.g., facilities 46 and 47) having a corresponding relation between them are directly related with each other is stored in a data base storing means 41. In addition, an up-and-down relation defining table 43 showing which sections (e.g., LS1 and LS3) contained in the facilities (e.g., facilities 46 and 40) having an up-and-down relation between them have direct up-and-down relation and a coupled relation defining table 44 showing the coupled relation of sections (e.g., sections COM1, NP1, and LS1 of the facility 46) of each facility are also provided in the data date storing means 41. Since the relations among the facilities are kept in detail in the data bases to the functional block level, management of the facilities becomes easier.
