Abstract

PURPOSE:To satisfactorily operate an unmanned carrier within a clean room by transmitting a control command to the carrier via the infrared rays spreading into the air after providing a console completely separate from the carrier so that the carrier can be remote-controlled with no entrance of a worker into a traveling area of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:An infrared ray type remote control device (remote control console) 4 which is completely separate from an unmanned carrier 1 is provided on a remote control device of the carrier 1. The carrier 1 is controlled for automatic operation by a host CPU 6 which is previously programmed. Thus the carrier 1 is driven on a track to carry goods to a prescribed place. When a request is received while the carrier 1 is traveling for an emergency stop or manual operation mode to be set from an automatic operation mode, the device 4 produces a switch command to an emergency stop mode or a manual operation mode from an automatic operation mode. Thus a remote control operation is possible with the carrier 1 with no entrance of a worker into a traveling area of the carrier 1. Then the carrier 1 is satisfactorily operated within a clean room.
