Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate faulty connections and allow a cost reduction by reducing the volume of wiring and number of component parts by using a single power source stabilizing means to supply the power from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit, and further transmitting information from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit by making use of said power supply line. CONSTITUTION:The commercial power source 10 applied to the outdoor unit 34 is converted to a low voltage DC current by a power source stabilizing means 12, which is then applied to the indoor unit 35 as the plus side leaving from a terminal base 36 among the indoor/outdoor power connection lines 17, 18. As a result, a voltage is applied to a control device 32. A command is given from the device 32 to a signal generating means 30 to actuate a photocoupler 29. By the ON/OFF action of a transistor 23, a transistor 19 is turned ON/OFF to turn ON/OFF the current flowing through the power connection line 17. A photocoupler 14 in the outdoor unit 34 detects the ON/OFF of the current, and transmits such to a signal receiving means 13. The signal receiving means 13 detects the voltage between the collector and the emitter of the photocoupler 14 and receives it as the signal from the outdoor unit 35.
