CONSTITUTION:The high temp. oxygen enriched air is blasted to packing layer for carbon series solid reducing agent charged from a hopper 2 from plural tuyeres 6, 11 composing of at least two steps through heat exchanger 9, and the ore is blown from a hopper 1 through the upper step tuyeres 6 together with the high temp. air to obtain molten metal. In a shaft type smelting reduction furnace 5, the blasting condition and the ore supplying condition are controlled so as to satisfy the equation (L/G)X(SCRT/AT)=0.25-0.6.
