Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain a picture reading faithful to an original picture by varying an amplification factor to a serial picture signal in accordance with the spatial frequency of an input signal. CONSTITUTION:A means to vary the frequency characteristic of an amplifying means so that each color picture signal may be equalized at each spatial frequency is provided. Namely, a color balance is matched to all the spatial frequencies at a color original by obtaining the frequency characteristic of respective color amplifiers 100p, 100q and 100r so that each color MTF(Modulation Transfer Function) may be evenly flatted from the lower position of the spatial frequency to the higher one. A correction process necessary for the reading system of a shading correction, a color correction, an (r) correction, etc., is executed with the digital image signal of serial multilevel values as it is to the image signal to electrically correct the MTF at an input image processing part. Thus, the reading a color image faithful to an original image is attained.
