Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve both of safety and work efficiency in assembly, maintenance and inspection of an apparatus, to reduce a storage space, and to improve reliability, by disposing a resistance box in which a discharge resistor of the gas laser apparatus is stored so as to be adjacent to a discharge section on the upper section of an air duct. CONSTITUTION:A resistance box 2, in which a discharge resistor for stabilizing a DC glow discharge in a discharge section 1 of a gas laser apparatus, is so disposed as to be adjacent to the discharge section 1. This resistance box 2 and the discharge section 1 are also interconnected through connecting leads 4 which are distributed in a duct cover 5. And, the resistance box 2 is made to be adjacent to the discharge section 1 on the upper section of an air duct 3 to reduce the strage space thereof, thereby the gas laser apparatus body is directly placed on a floor. Moreover, since the resistance box 2 is installed on the upper section of the air duct 3, the resistance box 2 to which a high voltage is applied is prevented from being brought into contact easily, thereby the safety of the work is maintained. Further, the reduction of the strage space of the resistance box 2 results in the earthquake-proof of the apparatus being enhanced, and the reliability thereof being improved.
