螢光面をマトリクス状に並べた構造を有する光源
用表示管において、前記各螢光面に対応してそれ
ぞれ配設された電子放出用のカソードからなるカ
ソード電極群と、このカソード電極群の各カソー
ドより放出される電子を制御するように前記螢光
面に対応してその行（または列）方向に配設され
た制御グリツドからなるグリツド電極群と、前記
カソード電極群の背面側の前記真空外囲器の一部
をなす基板上に前記各々の螢光面に対応してその
列（または行）方向に配設された背面電極からな
る背面電極群を備え、前記各制御グリツドをチヤ
ンネル状にして、それら制御グリツドの周側面部
に、該制御グリツドと前記基板との間から漏れる
電子を遮へいすべく形成されたシールド板をそれ
