Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply uniform surface treatment without fluffs to carbon fiber bundles by subjecting plural carbon fiber bundles to electrolytic treatment in an electrolyte flowing in the same direction as that of running carbon fiber bundles. CONSTITUTION: The method of this invention is to perform the electrolytic treatment of plural carbon fiber bundles 6 as an anode while making the surface of an electrolyte run parallel to a cathode 4 made of platinum and making the electrolyte around the carbon fiber bundles 6 flow in the same direction as that of running carbon fiber bundles at the flow speed of 1-5 times the running one of the bundles. The method enables us to uniformly perform surface treatment without making fluffy and is effectively in producing CFRPs.
