Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber outstanding in dyeability for anionic dye and color fastness, by incorporating viscose with a specific cationic oligomer containing basic nitrogen atom-contg. polymerizable monomer as the essential monomer component. CONSTITUTION:First, a monomer component containing, as the essential component, a basic nitrogen atom-contg. polymerizable monomer [e.g. aminoethyl (meth)acrylate] is polymerized to prepare a >=6C alkyl-terminated cationic oligomer with an average molecular weight of 500-10,000. This oligomer is then incorporated in viscose in such quantities to be pref. 0.5-5wt.% based on the cellulose in said viscose followed by spinning the resultant viscose, thus obtaining the objective fiber. Preferably, said oligomer can be prepared by polymerization of said monomer component in the presence of a long chain alkyl mercaptan such as hexyl mercaptan using a small amount of polymerization initiator.
