Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding material which can be easily subjected to molecular orientation and can give a molding excellent in strength and modulus, comprising a specified crystalline high-MW polymer comprising a solid solution of a polyacetal homopolymer and a polyacetal copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A polyacetal homopolymer (A) which is a thermoplastic polymer of a number-average MW of 15,000-200,000 and an MI of 0.1$50 is obtained by, for example, polymerizing formaldehyde in the presence of an ionic polymerization initiator. A polyacetal copolymer (B) which is a polyoxymethylene copolymer having at least one kind of a (poly)acetal segment in the molecular chain, a number-average MW of 10,000-200,000 and an MI of 0.1-50 is obtained by, for example, copolymerizing a cyclic ether with at least one alkylene oxide. Component A is mixed with 0.1-30wt.% component B, and the mixture is melt-molded to obtain the tile molding material comprising a solid solution which is a thermally homogeneous crystalline high-MW polymer comprising a crystalline phase substantially composed of spherulites of a size <=5mum and an amorphous phase.
