Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate non-transparent peaks and to prevent temp. rise by forming a coated film contg. a raw material to be converted by calculation to SiO2, then laminating and forming a coated film contg. a material to be converted by calcination to a high-refractive index dielectric material thereon. CONSTITUTION:A cleaned glass plate which is a substrate 1 is immersed in a TiO2 coating soln. and is pulled up from the soln. to form the coated film thereon. This coated film is calcined to form a thin TiO2 2'a which is the high- refractive index dielectric film of the 1st layer. The glass plate formed with this thin TiO2 is then immersed into an SiO2 soln. and is dried to form the coated film 2b. The glass plate is in succession immersed again into the TiO2 coating soln. in the state of not calcining the coated film and is pulled up from the soln., by which two layers of the coated films 2a are laminated. The operations after the immersion into the coating soln. are thereafter repeatedly carried out twice to form UV cut coating films 2 on both faces of the glass plate. The average reflectivity of the optical characteristics of such coating films is 96% and non-transparent peaks are not observed.
