Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain fixed image density by providing a toner recovering means for recovering toner which is not carried by a developing means into a storage means. CONSTITUTION:A developing roll 2 in a housing 1 is provided with a conveyor roll 7 which conveys and supplies a fixed amount of toner 9 from a toner box 6 and a recovery roll 8 which recovers the toner 9 into the box 6 in parallel to each other. Then the toner 9 which is conveyed and supplies is consumed for developing operation, but when the amount of supply toner is larger than the amount of consumed toner, excessive toner overflows and moves as shown by an arrow (b). The moved toner stays in the occupation space of the recovery roll 8 and is returned to the conveyor roll part partially as the recovery roll 8 rotates, while the remaining toner moves through the passage of the recovery roll 8 as shown by an arrow (f) and is recovered to the lower position of the toner box 6. Consequently, a fixed amount of toner is held nearby a development part at all times.
