Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent intracorporeal stability and inner surface antithrombogenic property and to facilitate the implantation of the fabricated tissue through an outer surface, by treating at least the inner surface of a specific tubular body with low temp. gas plasma of a fluorine compound or organosiloxane. CONSTITUTION:After the melt spinning of a polyether ester type copolymer, the spun yarn is carried by high speed high temp. gas to be made fine and the formed continuous filament is laminated in a sheet form to obtain an elastic fiber nonwoven fabric. This fabric is treated with low temp. gas plasma of a fluorine compound or organosiloxane and subsequently wound around a core rod and molded into a porous tubular body under heating. The average diameter of the elastic fibers composed of the polyether ester type polymer is 30mum or less and this tubular body for an artificial blood vessel has such a multilayer structure that a plasma treated layer and a plasma untreated layer are alternately arranged in the cross-section in the diameter direction and said layers are spirally arranged as a whole and the plasma treated layer is positioned inside.
