Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly discriminate the contour of an original whatever kind it may be by forming a pattern of streaks on the surface side facing an image read part at the time of reading the original. CONSTITUTION:On the inner surface of the original cover 1, the streak pattern 20 in which stripes in black and white colors are arrayed alternately is formed. The stripes of the pattern 20 are formed slantly to respective sides of the original. In case of a positive image (a), black color is a color decided to be significant while white color is decided to be insignificant. On the other hand, in case of a negative image (b), inversely, black color is decided to be insignificant while white color to be significant. Since the surface of the cover 1 facing the image read part i.e. the inner surface in this case is formed with the streaks in black and white colors, the contour of an original can be clearly recognized through the black streak pattern in case of a positive image, on the other hand, in case of a negative image, the contour of the original is clearly recognized by through the white streak pattern.
