Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature rise of a sensor by providing a heat radiation mechanism to the substrate of an image sensor or a transfer roller in an original reader with a contact type image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Many fin-shaped heat radiation plates 6 as a thermal radiation mechanism are erected on the rear surface of the sensor substrate 1a of the image sensor 1 with intervals. With these radiation plates 6, the surface area of the substrate 1a is increased to promote the radiation, hence the temperature rise of the substrate 1a i.e. the temperature rise of the sensor 1 is prevented. Also, the transfer roller 4 disposed opposite to the sensor 1 are made hollow with both ends opened, and on the inner circumferential surface of the roller 4, many fin-shaped radiation plates 7 are provided. Therefore, the thermal radiation of the roller 4 is promoted by the radiation plates 7, as a result, the temperature rise of the sensor 1 can be suppressed.
