[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a portable sponge, and more particularly to a polyvinyl acetal (hereinafter abbreviated as PVAt) sponge suitable for applying water-based cosmetics, removing makeup, or washing the face.

PVAt-based sponges have excellent hydrophilicity, moderate elasticity and flexibility, and have extremely good compatibility with the skin and fit, so they have traditionally been used as puffs for applying water-based cosmetics, makeup removers, facial cleansing materials, etc. It has been commercialized in various forms and is highly used.

However, on the other hand, when PVAt sponges become dry, they harden and lose their elasticity and flexibility, resulting in completely different physical properties. Before use, they must be immersed in water to return to a flexible state. In other words, when a PVAt sponge comes into contact with water, its pore structure causes a capillary phenomenon, forcibly absorbing water. Therefore, its water absorption rate is quite fast, but when the moisture content of the material is less than 50%, that is, in a semi-dry or dry state, its water absorption rate becomes extremely slow. Therefore, in order to use it for water absorption purposes, it was necessary to keep the material in a wet state beforehand. In addition, in order to rapidly absorb a large amount of water equivalent to the volume of the material, the wet material is compressed by hand or with a suitable device, and then restored in the absorbing water to force the material to absorb the water. It took a lot of effort to use.

The above-mentioned object is a compression-molded body of a polyvinyl acetal porous material in a dry and hardened state, and the compression-molded body is composed of sponge pieces having at least one edge forming an acute angle, and the sponge pieces have minute connecting portions. This is achieved by a portable sponge that is integrally formed by making a cut line and connecting the sponge pieces through a small portion.

The present inventors determined the moisture content of the PVAt-based porous material.
When compressed at approximately room temperature without external heating under conditions of 50% or less, that is, in a substantially dry-cured state, a compression molded body with an extremely dense composition is obtained, and such a molded body absorbs moisture extremely quickly. It was found that the material is flexible and highly elastic. The compression ratio referred to here is expressed by the following equation.

圧縮率(%)=A−B/A×100 A:圧縮体の体積 B:圧縮後の体積 圧縮は型等に素材を収容し、プレス等により押

Compression rate (%) = AB/A x 100 A: Volume of compressed body B: Volume after compression Compression is easily carried out by housing the material in a mold or the like and pressing it with a press or the like.

The PVAt-based porous material applied to this invention is compressed in a substantially dry and hardened state, but if it has a high moisture content, that is, if it is compressed in a wet and softened state, it will recover as soon as the pressure is released. death,
A compression molded product cannot be obtained. In addition, if heat is applied during compression, a compression molded product can be obtained, but the deformation remains as a permanent strain, and even if it is placed in water, the water absorption and expansion effects are significantly inhibited, which is the purpose of this invention. is not achieved.

The compression rate and the time required for restoration are roughly related, but
Since the sponge according to the present invention is small, the restoration time is relatively short, and a compression ratio of 30% or more is sufficient.

The PVAt-based porous material applied to the present invention is prepared by dissolving one or several types of polyvinyl alcohols having an average degree of polymerization of 300 to 3000 and a degree of saponification of 80 to 100% in water to form an aqueous solution. It can be easily obtained by adding a pore-forming agent such as starch to this and reacting it with an aldehyde in the presence of a catalyst such as a mineral acid. Furthermore, if necessary, it is also possible to add colorants, fiber powder, fillers, etc., or to reinforce with fabrics, etc.

Next, an example of an embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. 1 to 5 are explanatory diagrams showing an example of a portable sponge according to the present invention. In the figure, each sponge has an acute part 1 and a flat part 2. The acute angle portion 1 is suitable for use in making up small parts of the face, such as around the eyes, and for touching up makeup.
Further, the flat portion is suitable for use on the flat end portion of the face. In addition, when using a portable sponge in a humid environment, it is flexible and can be bent to create a curved surface if necessary.
It is also suitable to have a curved surface portion 3 as shown in the figure.

When the compression-molded PVAt-based porous body of the present invention is immersed in water, it rapidly absorbs water and restores its pre-compression shape, regaining desirable elasticity and flexibility. A sponge piece that can be placed in a handbag, pouch, or pocket, and when used, soaked in a small amount of water to restore and soften it in a short period of time, and used as a makeup puff, makeup retouching puff, makeup remover, and facial cleansing material. By using different end faces, it is possible to select a method of use that is suitable for fine parts of the face, flat end parts, etc., and it is possible to dispose of it as is after use. Moreover, since it is a dry product when carried around, there is no need to worry about leaking other things, there is no need to use a special container, and there is no need to worry about microorganisms even when stored for a long time.
