CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field adjusting coil 2 is arranged near a superconductor 1 inserted in series to an electric circuit, and the current flowing through the coil 2 is adjusted. The magnetic field near the superconductor 1 is made the critical magnetic field or more, and the state that the lines of magnetic force are expelled from the superconductor 1 by the Meissner effect is broken, thus the superconductor 1 is made an ordinary conductor, its resistance value is quickly increased, and a main circuit is reliably opened by an auxiliary switch 3 under this condition. No phenomenon causing an arc discharge or the like occurs at all, thus a circuit is reliably opened.
