Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an operator performing a registering operation to add a register number without checking existing registered number, by automatically producing the numbers following the retrieval number of a registered document against a newly registered document. CONSTITUTION:The image information on a newly registered document inputted from an image scanner is received and partly filed. Then a retrieval information register picture is displayed and an operator is urged for registration of the retrieval information. Thus the input information is accepted to said picture. This input information is coincident with the retrieval information including such items as the title of the document (1), a producer (2), a producer company (3), the date of production (4), a vocabulary (5), document number (6), producer- based product number (7), company-based product number (8), year-based product number (9), etc. Here the registered number is not inputted but the 'need' or 'no-need' of registration is selected. When the 'need' is selected, the largest one of registered numbers is checked and '1' is added to this largest number for decision of a new register number.
