Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately and repeatedly reproduce a wear and friction phenomenon having load variation by providing a loading device which varies a test load according to the motion state of a movable test member. CONSTITUTION:When a cylindrical test-piece 7 rotates, a load pattern generator 9 outputs a stored load target value according to the output of a rotational angle detector 8. Further, a compensating device 16 compares the load target value outputted by the device 9 with an actual load value outputted by a load detecting device 15, and generates and outputs such a control signal that they match with each other to excitation circuits 17a and 17b. At this time, the circuits 17a and 17b vary currents flowing to electromagnet coils 18a and 18b according to the control signal. Consequently, the friction load value of a rod type test-piece 6 and the test-piece 7 is controlled so as to coincide with the load target value. Thus, a test is conducted while the load is varied repeatedly and accurately according to the angle of rotation of the test-piece 7.
