Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, consisting essentially of a specific unsaturated polyester, (meth)acrylic acid ester and diallyl phthalate and having excellent heat resistance, good operability and drying properties without a fear of atmospheric pollution and suitable for impregnating coils, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition consisting essentially of (A) an unsaturated polyester consisting of (i) polyethylene terephthalate, (ii) tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanate and (iii) a vegetable oil fatty acid (e.g. soybean oil), (B) an acrylic or methacrylic acid ester [e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate] and (C) diallyl phthalate. Furthermore, the amount of the component (i) is preferably 5-50% based on the total basic acid equiv. and the amount of the component (ii) is preferably 10-60% based on the total polyhydric alcohol equiv. The amount of the component (iii) is preferably 5-30% based on the total basic acid equiv.
