Abstract

PURPOSE:To have the same maneuvering characteristics in backward moving as by rear wheel steering in forward moving, by putting the front wheels in steering angle control so that one point in the front part of car body traces the locus of one point in the rear part of car body when the car moves backward. CONSTITUTION:An actuator 6 for steering the front wheels in mounted on a car body, and steering knucles 5L, 5R are coupled with the two ends of a rod 6b which makes strokes together with an actuator piston 6a. An actuator 8 for steering the rear wheels in fixed to the car body in the same manner as the front. Actuator chambers 6L, 6R, 8L, 8R are connected with servo valves 9, 10, which are connected in turn with an oil pump 12 driven by engine through belt 11, and oil tans 13, an oil pressure supply circuit 16, and a drain circuit 17. The target front and rear steering angles are computed by a controller 20, and thereupon the servo valves 9, 10 are controlled.
