Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce surge current having ringing property, by providing a semiconductor element, conducted by a surge voltage, to put a switching transistor ON. CONSTITUTION:A fly-back converter circuit is provided with a self oscillating constitution and a boosting transformer 6 is provided with primary-tertiary coils while a transistor (tr) 7 is put OFF by the induction voltage of the tertiary coil. The transistor 7 is put ON by a resistor 8, connected to the base thereof, and the time constant of a capacitor 9 while an output current, outputted from the secondary coil, charges a load capacitor 5 through a rectifying diode 4. A Zener diode 12, whose cathode is connected to the collector of the transistor 7 and whose anode is connected to the base of the transistor 7, is provided as a surge voltage absorbing means. According to this constitution, the surge voltage may be absorbed surely by putting the transistor 7 ON when the surge voltage is generated.
