Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a diamond-like thin film on the surface and to give the characteristics of a mechanical strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., by impressing a high frequency and DC load bias on the conductive wire rod inside a carbon source gas reaction chamber and generating a plasma. CONSTITUTION:The conductive wire rod 3 of a copper, aluminum, etc., is inputted into the reaction chamber into which the carbon source gas 8 of an ethane, methane, propane, etc., is led and a high frequency 7 and DC load bias voltage 7 are impressed and a plasma is generated between cylindrical electrodes 4. A diamond-like carbon thin film is thus formed easily on the surface of the conductive wire rod 3. The characteristics of a mechanical strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., is given to the wire rod 3 by this thin film and the use for the cutting machine wire cutting a feeding electric wire, wire, etc., is made possible.
