Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of excessive tension by correcting a reference tension value based of the variation of rotational speed of winding machine and controlling the tension operating on a rolling material based on a correcting reference value. CONSTITUTION:The rotational speed of a motor 30 driving a mandrel 35 is detected by a detector 20, and its detected signal Nf is inputted in a differentiator 1. Then, the detected signal Nf is differentiated and a proper constant is multiplied to convert to an inertia toque signal T of the mandrel 35. On the other hand, a toque reference T*, corresponding to a coil diameter of the rolling material 70 wound on the mandrel 35 is outputted from a setter 2. The difference T0* between said torque reference T* and the inertia torque T is calculated by a substractor 12 and made to be a corrected torque reference T0*. This torque reference T0* is devided by a field magnetic flux phito be the current reference by a divider 16. Then, through a current control mean 28, an armature current of the motor 30 is controlled to become the current reference. Therefore, the operating tension on the rolled stock 70 is controlled into the specified value, and the excess tension is not generated.
