Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a system from becoming large in size at the time of constituting the system centering around an information processor, by providing a means for reading an image, on a printer, so that it can be used as a facsimile, as well. CONSTITUTION:When a printer 16 is used as a facsimile, and an image (document, picture, etc.,) is sent out, a main control part 5 sends out image read control information 10 to an image read control part 4 in response to selecting information 15 from an operating part 6, and in response to its image read control information 10, an image read part 2 reads the image. Also, image information 13 which is sent out of other facsimile is converted to a prescribed signal by an interface part 7, inputted to the main control part 5 as a printing signal 12, and the main control part 5 sends it out as a printing signal 11 to a printing head control part 3, and the printing head control part 3 sends out a printing control signal 9 to a printing head 1. In such a way, at the time of constituting the system centering around an information processor, it can be prevented that the system becomes large in size.
