Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a mild conditioning shampoo good in foaming properties by including a mixture of an ethoxylated alkyl sulfate and an alkyl sulfate, a dispersing, insoluble and involatile silicone and a long-chain material. CONSTITUTION: This shampoo composition comprises (A) 10-40% mixture of an ethoxylated alkyl sulfate and an alkyl sulfate having (3:2) to (6:1), preferably (2.5:1) to (3.5:1) molar ratio of the former to the latter, (B) 0.01-10% dispersing, insoluble and involatile silicone, preferably a polydimethylsiloxane having 50,000 to 200,000cSt viscosity at 25 deg.C or a silicone rubber, (C) 0.5-5% long-chain (16-22C) acyl derivative (e.g. an ethylene glycol long-chain ester) or a long-chain amine oxide (e.g. a long-chain alkyldimethylamine oxide) and the balance of water. Moreover, a stable dandruff-removing shampoo is obtained by further blending 0.2-4% dandruff-removing agent (e.g. zinc pyridinethione) therewith.
