Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce stably a fluorosilicone oil having a long-chain fluoroalkyl group, excellent in electrical insulation property and being low in heating loss, by reacting a cyclotrisiloxane with a disiloxane in the presence of a specified catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorosilicone oil of a viscosity at 25°C of 50W10,000cP is obtained by reacting 50W99mol.% cyclotrisiloxane of formula I with 50W1mol.% disiloxane of formula II (wherein R is CH3 or C4F9CH2CH2) at 100°C or below in an atmosphere which gives a water content of the reaction system, of 1,000ppm or below in the presence of a catalyst of formula II (wherein Rf is a 1W4C fluoroalkyl) in an amount to give an atomic ratio (Si/S) of 100W1,000.
