Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an online measurement with a continuous and quick operation, by measuring a dielectric constant of a liquid to be measured before and after cleaning when the liquid being measured is cleaned by an alkaline or neutral cleaning solution to calculate changes in the dielectric constant before and after the cleaning. CONSTITUTION:A liquid to be measured is introduced between pole plates 2a and 2b of a first dielectric constant measuring cell 2 with piping 1 to measure a dielectric constant with a capacitance measuring device 3. The liquid being measured further flows into a counterflow contactor 5 through a piping 4 and is stirred up together with an alkaline or neutral water phase to be injected at an upper inflow port 5b by an agitator 5a. The water phase as heavy liquid is discharged at a lower outflow port 5c while the liquid being measured as light liquid flows over continuously at an upper outflow port 5d and flows into a second dielectric constant measuring cell 7 passing through a piping 6 to measure a dielectric constant with a capacitance measuring device 8 likewise. The dielectric constants measured with the devices 3 and 8 are inputted into a calculator 10 to obtain a difference between both values and the results are compared with a calibration curve of concentration of nitric acid vs dielectric constant to calculate the desired concentration.
