Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a higher measuring accuracy while minimizing scattering of a measured value, by a method wherein a sample rice is crushed into an almost fixed size while being stirred up and mixed and absorbancy thereof is measured by near infrared spectral analysis to compute the content of moisture. CONSTITUTION:When the vibrator 26 of a sample crusher 17 is operated to feed rice grains into a feed hopper 23, the rice grains are conveyed to a discharge section 21 within a supply gutter 22 which vibrates with a vibrator 26 to be supplied onto a crushing disk 29 via a supply port 28. While the crushing disk 29 rotates at a high speed, powdered rice being crushed leaks out into a powder gathering path 36 to be conveyed to a cyclone separator 37 via a communication air duct 38 and are dropped into a sample bottle 39 at the lower end thereof. The sample bottle 39 is removed from a bottle carrier base 40 to be closed with a lid and fixed on a sample bottle mounting section 59 of a stirring arm 58 at an agitator 52 to stir up. After the end of the agitation, the sample rice is packed into a sample container 16 and absorbancy is measured with a near infrared analyzer to compute the content of components thereof thereby achieving a higher measuring accuracy.
