Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of brake noise by forming the inside peripheral faces of webs of a pair of brake shoes so that they have different natural frequency of both brake shoes. CONSTITUTION:One brake shoe 2a is formed into a shape so that a conventional concave part (indicated by an imaginary line) of the inside peripheral face of a web 3a is filled up, and the other brake shoe 2a is formed into a shape in which a concave part of the inside peripheral face of a web 36 is further deepened from a conventional part (indicated by an imaginary line). Thus, the primary bending frequency of the brake shoe 2a is raised whereas that of the other brake shoe is lowered, with the result that the resonance points of both the brake shoes 2a, 2b are greatly displaced to each other. The generation of brake noise can therefore be prevented.
