Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a ceramic honeycomb structure, which has high strength, high density, low porosity and is excelled in uniformity in quality, by a method wherein green sheet, which is produced by forming ceramic stock mixed with binder into sheet shape, is shaped into wavy shape by corrugating. CONSTITUTION:Green sheet as ceramic presursor is manufactured by forming ceramic stock mixed with binder into sheet shape. A part of or the whole of the green sheet is shaped into wavy shape by corrugating. The obtained corrugated green sheets are piled up one upon another by shifting the phases of the wave forms or the corrugated green sheet and non-corrugated or flat plate- like green sheet are piled up alternately so as to bond contact points in order to obtain a honeycomb structure. Finally, the obtained honeycomb structure is heated up to the sintering temperature of the ceramic stock for burning.
