Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the cutting life of a saw blade by providing blade members having different hardnesses in the addendum parts of a plurality of tooth sections in a saw blade so that low hardness addendums and high hardness addendums allow the wearing of the addendums to be dispersed in order to make up for defects of the addendums with each other. CONSTITUTION:For example, tooth sections 3-1, 3-2, 3-3 in a first set 7 are made of a high speed steel, and tooth sections 5 1, 5-2, 5-3 in a second set 9 are made of ultrahard alloy. The high speed steel is tough and has a high biting ability to a material to be cut, but it is inferior in wear-resistance to the ultrahard alloy which is liable to produce chipping. With the simultaneous use of both kinds of tooth parts, their wearing amounts differ from each other so that the tooth heights become inevitably different in accordance with the cutting amount, and accordingly, the serving of cutting teeth is dispersed, resulting in a prolonged service life. Further, difference in shock produces at the addendums during cutting due to different hardnesses of blade members constitution the addendums, thereby it is possible to restrain chattering vibration of the saw blade.
