Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a guard molding 1 for a passenger car as shown in FIG. 1 has been attached to an outer panel of a vehicle body, such as a front fender panel 2, with a structure as shown in FIG. That is, a plurality of mounting screws 3 of the guard molding 1 are installed on the surface of the front fender panel 2.
A plurality of mounting holes 4 are drilled into which the nuts 5 can be inserted, and nuts 5 are located on the back side of the front fender panel 2.
(as shown in the third figure), the guard molding 1 is fixed to the front fender panel 2 (see, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application No. 16510/1983).

To prevent the front fender panel 2 from rusting due to direct contact between the guard molding 1 and the painted surface of the front fender panel 2, etc., use multiple lengths through which the mounting screws 3 can be inserted. Hole 6
The spacer 7 made of single-sided adhesive tape is formed with
Positive mark 8 on the surface of front fender panel 2
is pasted as an index, and the guard molding 1 etc. is seated on this spacer 7. However, when mounting with such a spacer 7, it is not only necessary to mark or form a positive mark 8 before pasting the spacer 7, but also to form a positive mark 8 on the spacer 7.
is flexible as is well known, so it is extremely difficult to align the corresponding elongated hole 6 of the spacer 7 with the mounting hole 4 of the front fender panel 2 just by using the intermittent positive marks 8 as a reference. .

However, in such a large elongated hole 6, the stepped mounting screw 3 as shown in FIG.
In this case, the base cylinder 3a enters the inside of the elongated hole 6,
There is a risk that the base tube 3a may damage the painted surface of the front fender panel 2. Also, spacer 7
When the elongated hole 6 is attached to the mounting hole 4 in a biased manner as shown in FIG. There is a possibility that the surface may be damaged, and the side portion 7a of the spacer 7 on the opposite side protrudes unevenly from the guard molding 1, resulting in a poor appearance.

A, this spacer 7A is preferably made of transparent or translucent single-sided adhesive tape, and has discontinuous slits 10 formed on its surface extending in the alignment direction of the mounting screws 3 of the guard molding 1. .

It is sufficient to place the end panel 2 over the mounting hole 4 of the ender panel 2 and press the end panel 2 sequentially from one end. In this case, spacer 7
If A is made of a transparent or translucent material, the attachment hole 4 can be seen through, making the attachment work easier and providing a better finish. After this, the guard molding 1 is attached to the front fender panel 2. In this case, the slit 10 is secured by placing the tip of the mounting screw 3 of the guard molding 1 against the corresponding mounting hole 4 and pressing it firmly. The guard molding 1 can be reliably seated on the spacer 7 because of the break-through. Of course, in this mounted state, the slit 10 is pushed open by an amount corresponding to the mounting screw 3, so that the guard molding 1 can be completely prevented from hitting the painted surface of the front fender panel 2.

In the above, a vertical auxiliary slit 11 for positioning between the mounting screw 3A and the mounting screw 3C is formed, but this auxiliary slit 11 does not necessarily need to be provided. Note that the slit may be either a hole penetrating to the back surface or a groove leaving a thin portion.

This completely prevents some of the parts to be attached from coming into contact with the painted surface of the vehicle body panel, resulting in a good-looking finish.
