Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide capability which is close to the expressing power of a piano by using a magnet and a coil and controlling sound generation by making good use of electromagnetic induction. CONSTITUTION: The magnet 2 is fitted to one end of a key 1 on the opposite side from its key hit part and when the key 1 is pressed, the magnet 2 moves up around a support part 5 as a fulcrum; the moment the magnet enters the coil 3, an induced current flows to the coil in proportion to the strength of the key hitting, so this current is used as a control signal for the loudness of sound generation of the musical instrument. At this moment, a sound is not generated, so the control signal is temporarily stored in a memory. Then a switch 4 operates the moment the key 1 is pressed down to the bottom to generate another control signal, and the sound is generated with the intensity controlled with the previously stored control signal. Consequently, a natural feeling is obtained at the time of a musical performance.
