Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a shift of each set quantity between both image pickup devices by varying simultaneously by an equal quantity a position or a change of each image pickup device by using an interval changing means, a vertical direction changing means and a congestion angle changing means. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with an interval changing means 4 for moving simultaneously each image pickup device 1a, 1b by the same quantity in the direction opposite to each other along an image pickup reference line for connecting a reference point for showing a position of a first image pickup device 1a and a reference point for showing a position of a second image pickup device 1b, a vertical direction changing means 5 for varying simultaneously each angle made by the optical axis and a vertical line passing through the reference point, by the same quantity in the same direction, and a congestion angle changing means 6a for varying simultaneously each angle made by the optical axis and the image pickup reference line, by the same quantity in the opposite direction. Also, the interval of positions of the image pickup devices 1a, 1b is allowed to hold an equal distance to the base axis of the whole stereoscopic image pickup devices 1a, 1b. In such a way, the shift in both the image pickup devices can be prevented.
